The Saby Foundation adheres to the principle of consistency in its activities, developing ongoing projects in all directions. Therefore, after the opening of each surgical department within the framework of the “Emergency Pediatric Surgery” project, the Foundation conducts a series of master classes for local doctors from recognized pediatric surgeons in Russia and Kazakhstan.
A training session was organized especially for doctors working in children's regional hospitals in Aktau and Atyrau by the Honored Children's Surgeon of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yuri Sokolov.
The professor, assisted by local doctors, performed 7 complex laparoscopic operations on children from 5 to 16 years old with such diagnoses as: cyst of the left lobe of the liver, lung invasion, spleen cyst, gall bladder stone, common bile duct cyst, intestinal duplication. The little patients received the full course of treatment and were safely discharged home.
In total, during the work of the “Emergency Pediatric Surgery” project, in five departments opened by the Foundation, Yuri Sokolov, with the participation of Kazakh surgeons, performed 25 laparoscopic operations; about 100 doctors from Almaty, Semey, Aktau, Atyrau, Petropavlovsk, Taldykorgan, Taraz and Pavlodar took part in the organized master classes.
