A junior qualifying tournament dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and organized by the Almaty Association of Chess Players was held from 10 till 13 of November in the club. As we promised, we present you its results.

More than 40 schoolboys, including apprentices of Almaty trainers and children from Atyrau took participation in the contest of minds. The game was held on the basis of a controlled Swiss system in 7 rounds. In the hard competition, based on scores, three children from Almaty have got a second level, and a fourth level have surrendered to five athletes from southern capital.

In addition, the Chief Referee, Master of Sports and chess trainer, S.N. Kim, noted among the participants several other young, but promising chess players.

We sincerely wish the guys great victories and do believe that the future of chess sport of Kazakhstan is in safe hands!
